Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education is the nodal centre of the country for Olympiad programmes in mathematics and sciences including astronomy. The programmes aim at promoting excellence in science and mathematics among pre-university students. |

For Olympiads in Physics, Chemistry and Biology: Science students of Class 12 or lower class as on November 30, 2011(born on or after 1/7/1992) Astronomy Olympiad: Students of Class 12 or lower class as on November 30, 2011(born on or after 1/1/1993) Junior Science Olympiad: Students of Class 10th or lower class as on November 30,2011 (born on or after 1/1/1997) Selection: Stage 1: National Standard Examinations will be held in Physics(NSEP), Chemistry(NSEC), Biology(NSEB), Astronomy(NSEA) and Junior Science(NSEJS) Stage 2: The 300 toppers will qualify for this stage. At this stage Indian National Olympiads will be held in each subject. Stage 3: Orientation cum Selection camps(OCSC) in each subject. Stage4: The Selected Indian teams at the end of OCSC will undergo pre-departure training Stage5: Participation in International Olympiads Important Dates:
